The principles and practices of applicable mathematics are essential to the development of sustainable and efficient systems and business operations. The staff in the Applicable Mathematics group have skills and expertise in the areas of statistics and financial modelling to aid developmental needs as well as decision making in a data driven society. This expertise encompasses model development, study design advice, data analysis advice and software usage support.
The group’s staff also have wide ranging teaching expertise across all academic areas as well as the full range of University programme levels. Strengths exist in both traditional and new teaching practices.
